Quick & Easy Chocolate Fudge

One thing I have always loved about markets, or small cottage industry towns hidden high in the mountain tops, is that somewhere, someone will be selling fudge. Fudge is one of those things that everyone loves yet it hides behind a veil of mystery – given the prices we may it must be extremely difficult and labour intensive to make!

Yet, it is actually incredibly easy and takes only three ingredients and about 10 minutes to make (and maybe an hour or two to set!).

So, rather than waiting til your next market or mountain adventure, why not try this recipe instead?

What Will I Need?

375g dark cooking chocolate
400g sweetened condensed milk
50g unsalted butter
pinch salt

What Now?

1.      Line a 20x10cm baking tray with baking paper (or wider and shallower, depending on how thick you want your fudge).

2.      In a heavy based saucepan, heat the butter, chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and salt together over a low heat.

3.      Stir regularly until all the chocolate has melted, and the fudge is smooth and glossy.

4.      Pour into the prepared tray, and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

5.      Slice and serve!
