What Will I Need?
500g beef mince
2 rashers bacon, fat removed, diced
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely diced
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced chilli
½ tsp dried basil
1 tbsp tomato paste
400g tin diced tomatoes
1 cup beef stock
1. Heat the oil a pot over a medium heat before adding the onion and the bacon. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bacon has softened.
2. Next, add the garlic, chilli and the mince and cook for about 5 minutes or until the mince has browned.
3. Stir through the basil, tomato paste, tomatoes and stock and then allow to bubble away, stirring occasionally, for an hour or until the sauce has thickened.
4. Serve over pasta, or eat by itself.
