Mushy Beans with Lemon & Garlic


This is a nifty side to a steak or chop that can easily be whipped up in about 5-10 minutes that the family will love.

When making this you don’t need to mash the beans completely, just use your wooden spoon to stir and squish until the beans are heated through and the beans are mushy in some parts, but still firmly beanie in other parts.



What Will I Need?

2 x 400g Cannellini Beans
4 tbs Butter
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 1/2 tbs Lemon Juice
A little dribble of Olive Oil
Salt, to taste

What Now?

1.         In a small saucepan over a low heat, melt your butter (with a little bit of oil to prevent it burning) before adding the minced garlic. Stir for a few minutes to get the garlic really infused into the butter.

2.         Now we just need to add the beans and lemon juice and raise the temperature to medium.

3.         Stir to heat through, whilst also mashing the beans with your wooden spoon to create a mushy texture which still contains some form.

4.         Season with a little bit of salt, according to your tastes, and then serve!
